About Rykelan

Rykelan Brown was born on May 24, 2020 to MacKenzie Brown, who he called his “Momma Kenzie.”

On July 16, 2021, Rykelan was placed into foster care with Sam Adams (who publishes under the pen name Isabel Sterling) and Theo Adams, who he knew as Mom and Dad. Rykelan lived with his foster parents (who operate this website) until March 26, 2024 when custody transferred to Rykelan’s newly-identified biological father.

Rykelan was killed two months later, just a few days after his 4th birthday. His biological father ultimately plead guilty to 1st degree manslaughter and is serving a 25-year prison sentence.

Rykelan was an amazing little boy who loved dinosaurs, cars & construction vehicles, and being read to at bedtime. He loved playing outside, going to school at Head Start, and cozying up to watch his favorite movies.

He was deeply loved and is greatly missed.
